Onyekuru joins Anderlecht in training

Super Eagles star Henry Onyekuru has joined up with his new club RSC Anderlecht for their pre-season training camp in Austria.

The 20-year-old forward completed a £7 million move to English Premiership side Everton from Belgian outfit KAS Eupen last week, but was immediately loaned to the Belgian champions for the rest of the season.

And the young striker has arrived the training ground of his new club to link up with his new teammates, having been handed jersey No. 9 for the season

“Welcome Henry Onyekuru! Ready to meet his teammates in Austria! ?? #RSCA #trainingcamp2017,” the club tweeted on Tuesday with a photo of the wonderkid.

Onyekuru finished last season as the joint leading scorer in the Belgian Super League with 22 goals in 38 games – which attracted the attention of a host of clubs across Europe.

His superb form earned him his first international caps, as he was among the Super Eagles team that thrashed the Hawks of Togo 3-0 in Paris and was also invited to the Nations Cup qualifier against South Africa last month.

Ultimately, Onyekuru will arrive at Goodison Park after the 12-month loan spell at Anderlecht.

According to Everton, a season with Anderlecht, who will be playing in the Champions League, will be significant for Onyekuru’s development and help him become a much more polished forward.
