It is a year already since the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi took to his social media platforms to announce the unveiling of his new wife, Olori Shilekunola.

According to reports, the one year-wedding anniversary of the royal family was celebrated modestly, as the Olori took to the social media to honour the day and celebrate her husband with words full of love and adoration.

Inside sources revealed also that the Ooni spared nothing to serenade his wife when their marriage clocked one year with close watchers now expecting their union to be crowned with the arrival their first child.

OVULORIA OF NEW MASQUERADE

So, we heard rumours that Lizzy Evoeme, popularly known as Ovularia, in the now rested 80’s sitcom aired on the Nigerian Television Network, ‘New Masquerade’ had passed away to the great beyond.

Lizzy who played the role of Ovuloria, the submissive wife of Chief Zebrudaya (played by Chika Okpala) in the sitcom according to unverified reports, passed on with no details given as regards the cause of her death.

However, the actress has refuted her death rumour currently being peddled on social media.

The veteran actress who was obviously upset at the rumour during a TV interview at her Port Harcourt home, described the speculation as malicious, saying she is alive and full of life.

MATHEW ASHIMOLOWO

Just like other Pentecostal Christian divisions in Nigeria, the Kingsway International Christian Centre (KICC), which was founded by Pastor Matthew Ashimolowo, has joined league churches to have invested in education – a tertiary institution in particular.

Reports say Ashimolowo who is also the chancellor urged graduates to dare, dream and develop themselves with feelers revealing that the university was set up to address certain issues including poor health care delivery in Osun State which has a very high infant mortality rate and low doctor-patient ratio.

The sultry Nollywood actress from all indications has moved to diversify her stream of income, especially with cost of living in Nigeria getting higher as days go by.

We gather that weeks after opening her franchisee of House of Tara, in Warri, Delta State, the 40-year old mother of three is out with another project; 3D mink lashes called Ageless by Omoni.

Omoni Oboli who recently launch her book entitled ‘The Stars Are Ageless’ has had the eyelash project in the pipeline according to reports and she is said to be delighted that her dream has finally become reality.

CHARLY BOY

Can anyone really confidently call his mother a witch in public? Well, that’s the case of eccentric entertainer-activist, Charles Oputa, aka Charly Boy, who has described his late mother as such.

The musician and grandfather Charly Boy, has labelled his mother Mrs. Margaret Ntianu Oputa, nee Onumonu, a ‘good witch’ after she recently passed away on October 8, aged 100.

While stating his reason for referring to his mother as such, Charly Boy premised his conclusion about his late mum on the argument that only a “good witch” could have carried his pregnancy to term and nurtured him to adulthood.

NOLLYWOOD’S FIRST SCI-FI

The Nigerian movie industry dubbed Nollywood is reportedly set to witness the release of its first science fiction movie titled ‘Ratnik’ by Dimeji Ajibola.

We gather that the movie which is a shift from the common movie genres in Nollywood will feature stars like; Adunni Ade, Osas Ighodaro, Bolanle Ninalowo, Karibi Fubara, Zikky Alloy, Meg Otanwa, Tope Tedela and Paul Utomi among others.

Celebrity Gist can also confirm that the movie which will revolve around superheroes and mutants was set for screening in November 2019, but due to a request by its sponsors has been rescheduled for next year.

TIMI DAKOLO & EMELI SANDE

Away from the storm created by allegations of rape leveled by his wife, Busola, against the Pastor of the Commonwealth of Zion Assembly (COZA), Abiodun Fatoyinbo, these are certainly the best of times for R&B singer, Timi Dakolo.

The Bayelsa State born musician who recently signed a lucrative music deal with Virgin EMI label, which operates two A&R and marketing streams in Virgin Records and EMI Records respectively, is cooking up a new song with an established British music star.

Reports say Timi Dakolo has collaborated with award-winning singer, Emeli Sandé on a new song titled ‘Merry Christmas Darling’ described a pop ballad that sends Christmas wishes to loved ones who are far away with the lyrics stirring up nostalgia from past Christmas memories.

BURNA BOY

It is no news that ‘Like To Party’ crooner Burna Boy emerged as the winner of the MTV EMA Best African Act at the MTV EMA 2019 Awards ceremony staged in Seville, Spain last Sunday.

What is news is that the energetic act was not on hand at the awards ceremony to pick up his award after beating fellow Nigerian, Teni the Entertainer, South Africa’s Prince Kaybee and Nasty C, Harmonize from Tanzania and Togo’s duo TooFan, to take home the prestigious prize.

While his name rented the air at the venue of the MTV EMA’s, Burna Boy was thrilling fans at the sold out African Giant Tour Returns concert staged at the SSE Wembley Arena in London.

Celebrity Gist can confirm that his mother and manager, Bose Ogulu sent the fans into fits of frenzy when she interrupted one of his performances to announce that her son had won the MTV EMA for Best African Act.

OBA OBATERU

By Sunday, November 10, 2019, it will be 10 years since Obat Oil CEO, Oba Fredrick Obateru Akinruntan, mounted the stool of his forefathers as an Ondo State monarch with reports suggesting that he is leaving no stone unturned to celebrate his decade of service to his people as a ruler.

We gather that aside celebrating his 10-year anniversary on the throne, the monarch will also celebrate his recent appointment as the Chairman of Ondo State Council of Traditional Rulers.

Sources say eminent personalities in the oil and gas industry have already signified their intention to grace the occasion, just as prominent royal fathers have also signaled their intention to grace the occasion.
