Herdsmen attacks reflect failure of govt to provide security for Nigerians —OPC

National Coordinator of the Oodua Peoples Congress (OPC) Otunba Gani Adams has revealed the mode of operation the badoo cult group uses in recruiting innocent people into the cult.

The group has in recent times caused residents of Ikorodu area in Lagos state sleepless nights with their activities.

They invade homes and kill whole families, including babies by smashing their heads with mortars, or big stones.

The police, with the assistance of OPC members in the area recently arrested close to 200 members of the cult group in separate operations, even as residents reportedly meted out jungle justice to some others who were reportedly apprehended by vigilantes.

However, speaking during an interview session on TVC, Otunba Adams revealed that the the cult group recruits and initiates unsuspecting members of the public by placing job vacancy adverts, sometime in national newspapers.

He therefore called on job seekers to be careful in applying, for and attending job interviews, as they could be forcefully recruited into the cult group by its kingpins.

Otunba Gani Adam said that recruitment of new members are usually done by pasting vacancies for positions with lucrative and attractive salaries in the public domain.

These vacancies, he said, are usually printed on papers or posted at strategic locations around the state, with instructions to call the phone number included.

“Once you call the number, they will tell you to meet them at a particular location for the interview. Once you get there, you would be forced to be initiated into the cult with instruction to go out and kill. Uncooperative job seekers are usually killed on the spot”, he narrated.

The OPC leader therefore called on job seekers to be careful of such vacancies or job agents, and always maintain vigilance in such situations.

This is the fault of the government, if there are jobs in the country, people won’t be desperate for job.

I’m just surprised this can happen in Lagos State that’s presumed to be the most secured state in Nigeria. They’ve been lying to us about their security status. Shame!
