Published

Former Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Elder Godsday Orubebe has said that media reports that he plans to defect from the PDP to the APC is the “handiwork of the APC’s propaganda machine which stock in trade is lies and outright falsehood”.

Orubebe in a statement through his media Aide, Mr. Ekenwan Akwagbe, in Abuja, on Tuesday Orubebe described the reports as the handiwork of mischief makers, and that it was a false and malicious propaganda aimed at tarnishing his image.

He said those behind the fictitious report hacked into his twitter account.

Elder Orubebe was alleged to have purportedly posted on his twitter handle @ElderGOrubebe, “I have concluded plans to join my folks in the APC to champion and sustain the movement for a better Niger Delta in the new administration.”

According to him, “Elder Orubebe remains a staunch believer in the cause of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, and in the administration of President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan.

“He remains faithful to the PDP and will continue to remain there to form a strong opposition party to check every step taken by the incoming APC administration.

“The general public should please discountenance this ill-intended story by band endemic liars.”
