Court halts APC's plan to hold indirect primary in Kogi

National chairman of the governing All Progressives Congress (APC), Adams Oshiomhole, has been described as lacking in human dignity.

A senator representing Osun East Senatorial District, Francis Fadahunsi, made the description about Oshiomhole, adding that the former Edo State governor has by his behaviour exhibited traits of the “head-boy of a primary school”.

The report which circulated on Monday quoted the senator as making the statement during a Thanksgiving Service he organised in his hometown in Ilase-ijesha to appreciate people of his senatorial district over his electoral triumph.

Fadahunsi had emerged senator in the last election under the platform of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

He was apparently not happy about the role Oshiomhole played during the election of principal officers of the 9th National Assembly.

Oshiomhole had before the election made some comments many analysts described as unbecoming, including saying that members of the opposition would not be allowed to head any committee in the 9th Assembly.

“What is called National Assembly is not a one-party affair. It is an assemblage of people from diverse orientations and world views; it goes beyond parochial and myopic thoughts of an individual .

“I know how Ahmed Lawan and Femi Gbajabiamila really campaigned amongst different parties that made up the Senate and House of Representatives, ignoring that childish directives of their chairman which lacked human dignity.

“It is certain that if all that Oshiomhole said about chairmanship of committees of the National Assembly could be followed, both the Senate and House of Representatives would be hot,” Fadahunsi said.

On the spate of insecurity in Osun State, he said there was “need for our royal fathers to have a rethink on the way lands are being handed over to some foreigners for undisclosed purpose so that we will not be handing over our lands to those who will later constitute security threat to our people.

“On our part, we are making efforts to curb this menace by all possible means, and we have started getting results. We are also encouraging local Fulani herdsmen to help us in identifying criminal elements among them.”
