Super Eagles forward, Victor Osimhen has expressed happiness after his goal helped Lille secure their first victory in six games.

The French side fought hard against Dijon in the Ligue 1 on Saturday, and won the encounter 1-0, with Osimhen being the game winner.

He decided the game in the 43rd minute, when he was fouled in the box. After consulting the VAR, the centre referee awarded a penalty, which Osimhen successfully converted.

“I’m very happy, the win was very important for us, we failed to record a win in the last few games. It is important to play with more desire and make the fans happy,” the Nigeria international told reporters after the game.

Osimhen has now scored eight goals and bagged two assists in 14 league appearances for Les Dogues this season.

The 20-year old is expected to turn up again on Tuesday when his club will travel to Lyon for their next Ligue 1 fixture.
