Striker Victor Osinhem did not return to the country with the National U-23 team on Monday from Dakar, Senegal where they won the CAF U-23 Nations Cup.

A press statement from the Nigeria Football Federation last Sunday had said the team would arrive with all the players except the three overseas-based professionals, Taiwo Awoniyi, Okechukwu Azubuike and Junior Ajayi. But journalists who were expecting to interview the FIFA U-17 World Cup highest goal scorer were disappointed as Osinhem was nowhere to be found.

Our correspondent learnt from some officials of the squad that the player had travelled to England to finalise his move to an undisclosed Premier League club.

The players, donning white T-shirts with a touch of green, emerged from the arrival lounge at about 11:10am to the waiting hands of the officials of the NFF led by Vice President Akinwunmi Ojo, journalists and members of the supporters’ club.
