Osimhen: Sudan must fall in Lagos
Flying Eagles striker, Victor Osimhen, has predicted that their Sudanese counterpart will not escape defeat when both teams battle in the second leg of the U-20 Nations Cup final qualifiers billed for the Teslim Balogun Stadium this weekend.
Speaking with Cafonline.com, the Wolfsburg of Germany new acquisition said the team is ready for the crucial match after securing a 2-1 in the first leg in Omdurman.
“I’m not good at predicting results of matches but we are confident we are going to win. In this team, we have a lot of players who can score and it is not down to only me. We should expect goals from the team and if I get the opportunity, I would utilize it and if possible create opportunities for others to score for others too.
He added that, “Our preparation has been going on well since we came back from Sudan where we won 2-1 in the first leg. We have been preparing physically and psychologically; and the coaches have been keeping us focused for the return leg. We know it won’t be an easy match despite the fact that we won the first leg.”
Osimhen is also banking on the Lagos fans to galvanise the team to victory.
“We are happy to play the second leg against Sudan in Lagos. On a personal level, I’m very excited because I have not had the opportunity of playing in a Nigeria shirt in front of my family and fans in Lagos. We know the Lagos crowd will be massive and they will support us.”
