Osinbajo asks PenCom, ICPC, CCB heads awaiting Senate confirmation to resume duty

Newly appointed National Pension Commission (PenComm) Code of Conduct Bureau (CCB) and the Independent Corrupt Practices and other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) chairmen, have been asked to resume duty in acting capacity pending their confirmation by the Senate.

The Acting President, Professor Yemi Osinbajo, gave the directive in a statement released on Friday by the Permanent Secretary and Director Press, office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Mr Bolaji Adebiyi.

According to the statement, the directive was made in order not to give room for vacuum in certain important federal establishments.
The CCB has its appointees as Dr. Muhamma Isah, Acting Chairman; Murtala Kankia, Acting Member; Emmanuel E. Attah, Acting Member; Danjuma Sado, Acting Member and Ubolo I. Okpanachi, Acting Member.

Others are Ken Madaki Alkali, Acting Member; Professor S. F. Ogundare, Acting Member; Hon. Ganiyu Hamzat, Acting Member; Saad A. Abubakar, Acting Member; and Dr. Vincent Nwanli, Acting Member.

At the PenCom, the appointees are Alhaji Ali Usman Ahmed, Acting Chairman; Mr. Funso Doherty, Acting Director-General; Mr. Manasseh T. Denga, Acting Executive Commissioner; Abubakar Z. Magawata, Acting Executive Commissioner; Ben Oviosun, Acting Executive Commissioner; and Nyerere Anyim, Acting Executive Commissioner.

The ICPC has Professor Bolaji Owasanoye as Acting Chairman.

    This may be part of what the senate president Saraki and dogara discussed with Buhari in London during their visit, Osinbajo is definitely sure senate will approve them

    Apparently, waiting for protocols take time, instead of senate delaying, once all the heads Resume, senate will have to fast track thief confirmation.

      The case here is different, Nigeria simply don’t have working plan. No matter what the situation may be, Osinbajo is still expected to wait for Senate’s confirmation before asking them to resume office
