Your silence on persecution of Christians in Nigeria no longer golden, CAN tells Osinbajo

In further efforts to address the Niger Delta situation, Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, SAN, is to visit a number of oil communities in the region.

His visit which is billed to take him across some Niger Delta states begins Monday, January 16, 2017, with a visit to Delta State, after which he is also to visit Bayelsa and Rivers States at a later date to be announced soon.

According to a statement by Laolu Akande, a Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity to the vice president, at these visits, Osinbajo will lead high-level delegations of the Federal Government that will interact with leaders and representatives of the oil-producing communities.

This, he said is in continuation of ongoing outreach efforts of the Buhari administration towards a long lasting and permanent resolution of the Niger Delta crisis.

“The Buhari presidency is fully committed to having an effective dialogue and positive engagement that will end the crisis in the oil-producing areas, and believes that these visits would further boost the confidence necessary for the attainment of peace and prosperity in the areas and the Nigerian nation in general”, the statement said.

Renewed hostilities in the oil rich Niger Delta area has led to a reduction in the quantity of crude oil coming out of the region, causing a significant reduction to government’s income.

I hope he’d return with positive result because he can be gullible too at times

He has never been gullible for once. You have no point at all. Say something else meaningful

He forwarded Magu’s name to the senate for confirmation without the authorization of Mr President, his action has caused problem. That was a gullible act, if you’d like to know.

I don’t want to join your argument but you are very incorrect.
President Buhari authorised osinbajo to do so. Even the president never denied this. I know what you are thinking, that it was Tinubu who wanted magu as efcc boss, that’s totally wrong. Most of you only get to know what is trending at the surface level, you know nothing about what is going deeper in it.

? I think you people are the gullible ones here… Osinbajo should go to the militants and return with what will make Nigerians happy. Two men and a woman are here fighting over whether the Vice President is gullible or not, I don’t blame you people, I still blame Osinbajo for opening his eye to watch Buhari throw Nigeria into a state of confusion and poverty, it is only poor people that will have time to argue online, don’t you people have wives and husband to spend the Sunday with? Go and gist with your families!

At least, Osinbajo is working as a good Vice President who wants the betterment of Nigeria, when Jonathan was in power, what did sambo do? He was just there making money and bearing the title of a Vice President without portfolio

His rationale behind this trip might not yield a positive results as the different Niger delta groups might claim they are not still well represented in the engagements.
To me, Niger Delta militancy issues can’t end. Because greediness is the major factor pushing these militants and nothing else than that. The only alternative that can quell the Niger Delta militants is a military government and we all know military government is now an aberration.

Military government is not an aberration at all, if it will help us end insurgency and militancy, then the military should topple the government.

Osinbajo with his legal knowledge should be able to solve the problem legally so as to end the crisis
