The Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo on Thursday presided over the meeting of the National Economic Council (NEC) at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

The Vice President presided over the meeting in his constitutional capacity as the chairman of the council on Thursday, the second since President Muhammadu Buhari was sworn-in for a second term in office.

The NEC meeting, which holds monthly, deliberates on the coordination of the economic planning efforts and economic programmes of the various levels of government, with the 36 state governors, the Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, the Minister of Finance, the Secretary to the Government of the Federation and other government officials and agencies as members.
