Osinbajo meets with govs on how to end herdsmen killings

Doubts over whether Acting President Yemi Osinbajo has ultimate powers to assign portfolios to Ministers were on Wednesday laid to rest.

He proved critics wrong when, after three weeks of waiting, two new ministers, Stephen Ocheni (Kogi) and Suleiman Hassan (Gombe) were assigned portfolios as Minister of State, Labour and Employment, and Minister of State, Power, Works and Housing respectively.

The Senior Special Assistant to the Acting President on Media and Publicity, Mr. Laolu Akande, announced the development on his Twitter handle.

Osinbajo had also recently exercised full authority when, as Commander-in-Chief of the armed forces, he ordered the country’s military chiefs to relocate to the theatre of war in Borno State where Nigeria is fighting to defeat the Boko Haram terrorists
