Osinbajo's Acting President spell ends as Buhari returns

President Muhammadu Buhari Saturday returned to Nigeria after his 10-working-day vacation in the United Kingdom.

Buhari was received at the Presidential Wing of the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Abuja by top government officials and some of his supporters.

The President on August 3 had handed over the reins of power to Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo before leaving Nigeria for London, United Kingdom, where he spent his vacation.

Subsequently, Osinbajo played the role of Acting President during a high drama-filled period that saw the siege laid to the National Assembly by the Department of State Services (DSS) and the consequent sack and replacement of its former director general, Lawal Daura, with Seiya Matthew as Acting Director General.
