After Osinbajo's visit, suspected militants attack NPDC oil pipeline in Delta

Barely 24 hours after Vice President Yemi Osinbajo visited Delta State, a suspected attack by an unknown militant group, left a pipeline said to belong to the Nigeria Petroleum Development Company (NPDC) at Ughelli area of the state in flames.

The pipeline located at the back of SETRACO construction yard, along the East/West express road, reportedly went up in flames at about 4:30pm.

While militants are being fingered in the attack, a security source however claimed that the flames from the pipeline were caused by bush burning.

The source disclosed that the fire broke out after somebody set fire on the area and that a pipeline, which had some crude oil spill on it caught fire.
