Almost 3yrs in power, Aregbesola finally sends list of cabinet nominees

As politicians in Osun begin to scheme and strategise towards the 2018 governorship election, some opposition parties are making plans to form alliances to unseat the ruling APC.

The opposition figures consider such alliance as a veritable tool to wrest power from the APC government led by Governor Rauf Aregbesola.

As a result, chieftains of different political parties such as the Accord Party (AP), the Labour Party (LP), the Social Democratic Party (SDP), the Action Alliance (AA), the All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) gathered in Ile-Ife to marshal out their plans and strategies.

Also in the bandwagon were groups within the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), the Democratic Peoples Alliance (DPA) and the Mega Peoples Party (MPP).

A chieftain of the LP and the chairman of the occasion, Bello Sulaimon, speaking after the meeting disclosed that the coming together of the parties was based on the mission to set Osun people free from the “untoward hardships” orchestrated by Aregbesola-led APC  administration and to overthrow the party in 2018 elections.

He said the people must vote their oppressors out of power, maintaining that the problem of poor economy must be settled once and for all.

Also, a chieftain of the Accord Party, Segun Ayodele Fanibe, urged all the political parties that have expressed desire to unite to oust Aregbesola and his APC in Osun State to ensure they maintain unity among themselves.

He stressed that with the power of unity, APC which has battered and devastated the country’s economy would be sacked.

Former Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the PDP in the South-West but now a chieftain of the Labour Party in the state, Engr. Yinka Adigun, hinted that by May, the newly formed group would transmute to a political party.
