Osun assembly threatens to sanction LG bosses for manipulating delegates

Published

The Speaker of the Osun State House of Assembly, Dr Najeem Salam, has warned local government chairmen in the state against manipulation of councillors, who are part of the delegates who will elect the governorship candidate of the ruling All Progressives Congress.

In a chat with The PUNCH correspondent in Osogbo on Saturday by the media aide to the Speaker, Mr Goke Butika, the governorship aspirant said the assembly would sanction any LG boss who manipulated their councillors to support any of the contestants.

Salam said if the assembly under his leadership could fix the emoluments of the council chairmen without blackmailing them to get delegates, then any LG boss who seized salaries of parliamentary colleagues would be sanctioned.
