The Osun State government said on Friday the total lockdown of the state is still in force.

The government had earlier this month directed the total lockdown of the state in a bid to check the spread of coronavirus that had infected 288 persons in the country.

The Secretary to the State Government, Prince Wole Oyebamiji, who disclosed in a statement, said the state government has neither relaxed the lockdown nor granted exemptions for any form of the congregation, whether for Easter, Juma’at prayers or gatherings of any kind.

The SSG charged the state of the state, especially religious leaders to cooperate with the government in its effort to effectively tackle the pandemic.

The statement read: “The state-wide lockdown is a two-week order at the first instance, after which the government will review the battle against the pandemic.
