OSUN ELECTION: WAEC clears PDP guber candidate Adeleke, Police files fresh charges

Senator Ademola Adeleke has been okayed by an Osun State High Court to contesting the September 22 governorship election in the state.

Senator Adeleke is the governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

The court, presided over by Justice David Oladimeji, while dismissing the suit challenging his eligibility on Wednesday, said it was satisfied that the lawmaker was educated up to secondary school level.

According to the judge, the plaintiffs also admitted that the PDP candidate was educated to secondary school level in there affidavit.

Justice Oladimeji however said the documents submitted by Adeleke contained some serious and damaging irregularities, adding however that the plaintiffs did not raise the issue of forgery in the originating summon and failed to prove that the documents were forged.

It would be recalled that Two members of the PDP, Rasheed Olabayo and Idowu Oluwaseun filed a suit seeking an order of the court to stop Adeleke as the candidate of the PDP, insisting that he did not have the required educational certificate to contest the poll.
