Fayose denied bail, trial adjourned

Former Ekiti State governor and chieftain of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Ayodele Fayose, has reacted to the tribunal ruling that declared Ademola Adeleke of the PDP as the duly elected governor of Osun State.

A three-man panel of the tribunal had Friday, following a petition filed by the governorship candidate of the PDP in the Osun 2018 governorship election, Senator Adeleke, sacked the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Gboyega Oyetola, who was declared winner of the election.

In his response, Fayose, who was not able to have his anointed candidate succeed him in Ekiti State governorship election last year, expressed hope that the APC will soon, like in the case of Osun, lose the governorship seat in Ekiti State.

He said in a post on his Twitter handle, “They took Ekiti and Osun States by any which way just to avoid the bandwagon effect on the Presidential election.

“Now Osun has slipped off their hands, by the power of God, Ekiti too will slip and they will ultimately lose the Presidency.”
