OSUN RERUN: Aregbesola declares Thursday public holiday

The Osun State government has declared Thursday public holiday for the governorship rerun election in the state.

In statement on Wednesday, Sola Fasure, special adviser on media to Governor Rauf Aregbesola, said the holiday would give room for public sector workers to participate in the rerun election.

The exercise is scheduled to hold in seven polling units across four local government areas.

The units are in Ife north, Ife south, Orolu and Osogbo local government areas of the state.

The total number of registered voters in the units are 3,498.

Joseph Fuwape, the returning officer, had declared the Saturday governorship election inconclusive because the margin between the two leading parties, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and All Progressives Congress (APC), was smaller than the total number of cancelled votes.
