Following a query issued by the Kano State governor, Abdullahi Ganduje to the emir of Kano, Muhammadu Sanusi, over alleged financial misappropriations, the chief of staff to the emir, Munir Sanusi said the emirate council is currently reviewing the content of the query for a possible response.
Office of the secretary to the state government (SSG) had issued a query to Sanusi on behalf of Abdullahi Ganduje, governor of the state.
The chief of staff on Thursday confirmed the receipt of the letter, saying the emir was asked to respond within 48 hours.

“We received the query on Thursday. The state government has demanded the response of His Highness within 48 hours. The council is studying the content,”
Recall that the Kano State Public Complaints and Anti-corruption Commission had suggested that the emir is suspended after probing the emirate.
The agency said it uncovered that N3.4 billion was mismanaged under Sanusi. The amount was said to have been misappropriated between 2014 and 2017.
Meanwhile, Ganduje’s administration had recently split the emirate into five, whittling down emir Sanusi’s influence.
