The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has denied reports that it carried out a raid on the farm of the suspended Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Walter Onnoghen.

Operatives of the commission were said to have raided Justice Onnoghen’s farms located in the Masaka area of Nasarawa State on Saturday, allegedly spending more than three hours searching the premises.

But in a telephone conversation with Channels Television, EFCC’s spokesman, Mr. Tony Orilade, denied being aware of any such search by operatives of the agency.

There were also reports about an invitation from the EFCC to the CJN, which the EFCC also denied.

While describing the reports as “fake news”, the anti-graft agency urged Nigerians to disregard all unfounded claims.

The commission assured that it will only fight corruption in line with its mandate.
