Outrage as magazine dubs Kardashians ‘First Family’ of America

If any paper wishes to raise a storm they use the Kardashians, then the real American’s come out to cry for blood. Cosmopolitan has decided it was time to court controversy, so they likened the Kardashian family to the Obamas, dubbing them First Family in their October edition.
According to The Sidney Morning Herald, Americans are not taking it lightly as people took to their social media accounts to blast Cosmopolitan for such audacity.
Kardashian matriarch Kris Jenner, 59, is sitting centre in a shot, which celebrates the magazine’s 50th anniversary.
She is surrounded by her daughters Kourtney, 36, Kim, 34, and Khloe Kardashian, 31, as well as her two youngest daughters Kendall, 19, and Kylie Jenner, 18.
Kris’ former partner, Caitlyn Jenner, 65, did not take part in the shoot.
The cover has provoked controversy on social media for comparing the Kardashians to the family of US President Barack Obama.

“This is America’s First Family. And I cancelled my subscription today,” one Twitter user wrote.
Others called on Cosmopolitan to apologise for the cover, calling the comparison drawn between the Kardashians and the Obamas “disrespectful”.
The backlash extended to Instagram, where upset readers challenged Cosmopolitan editor-in-chief Joanna Coles over why she had chosen to make light of the family of the United States’ first black president.
The magazine, which comes out on October 13, will be the first to feature the six Kardashian women since they graced the front of The Hollywood Reporter in 2011.
