OYO: 2 feared dead following clash between APC & PDP party members

Two persons have been confirmed dead at Ibadan South West, ward 6, unit 4 in Oyo State during the ongoing Governorship and State National Assembly polls.

Reports say the pair were killed after an altercation that ensued between the supporters of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the All Progressives Congress (APC) over sharing of money to their voters.

An eyewitness who declined to be named said she witnessed sporadic gunshots in the area as soon as people assembled to vote.

The witness said; “As the voters have assembled to vote, all of sudden we just heard gun shots from different locations, as people began to scamper for safety.”

“There was no armed security men at hand to douse the tension as the ones available are not armed. After then, we just heard people talking in groups that they have killed two people,” she narrated.

As at the time of filing in this report, the incident had not been confirmed by DSP Olugbenga, the Police Public Relations Officer(PPRO) of the state.
