This is not the best of times for Adebayo Adebalu, the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), judging by results released by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
Adelabu will be licking his wounds by now after results released by the electoral body revealed that he lost his local government to his closest rival, Seyi Makinde of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
The outcome of results showed that Mr Adelabu who voted at his Ward 009, PU 010, Ibadan South-East Local Government Area, polled a total a total of 13,277 votes in the local government.
The collation officer of the local government, who noted that there was cancellation in six polling units as a result of either over-voting or ballot box snatching said Mr Makinde had 24,556 votes in the local government to beat Adelabu.
