Oyo APC suspends political activities for 2 weeks over COVID-19 fears

Two more federal lawmakers dump APC

The Oyo State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has suspended all political activities in an effort to curb the spread of the dreaded COVID-19 disease, also known as Coronavirus in the state.

The party, in a statement signed by its Publicity Secretary, Dr. AbdulAzeez Olatunde in Ibadan on Tuesday after a meeting of the state working committee reviewed the state of the nation as regards to the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, said all political activities at the state, local government and ward level throughout the state were suspended.

The party further disclosed that it would review the decision after two weeks, depending on developments as regards the COVID-19 pandemic in the country, adding that the party will resume its regular political activities in the state when the COVID-19 scourge is contained within the two weeks.

According to the statement, all APC offices across the state will remain shut and all manners of meetings suspended for the two weeks.
