Oyo gov-elect alleges ongoing plans to loot govt treasury dry
Oyo State Governor-elect, Seyi Makinde, has raised the alarm over movement of funds from the treasury of the state.
Makinde alleged that millions of naira had been moved from state coffers in the last 72 hours.
This was contained in a statement released on Tuesday by his spokesman, Dotun Oyelade.
Makinde who relied on a source within the government added that some civil servants were conniving with the state government to perpetrate this act.
He, however, promised not to spare anyone culpable upon his resumption of office.

The statement read, “The governor-elect may be forced to open the books if the aim is to rush money out through foul means before May 29 and leave the state in further financial crisis.
“According to Makinde, cases of unscheduled recruitments and appointments, including back-dated ones, have also been brought before him.
“Government will not hesitate to reverse any such move with consequences on those found to have committed infractions of the civil service guidelines.”
