Oyo govt bans teachers’ meetings during school hours
The Oyo State government on Tuesday issued a blanket ban on meetings held by head teachers or teachers during school hours, effective immediately. This directive applies to all public schools within the state, regardless of location.
Dr. Nureni Aderemi Adeniran, Chairman of the Oyo State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), made the announcement while monitoring school resumptions in Ibadan. The move aims to enforce strict adherence to the unified school timetable.

“This is a warning to all head teachers and teachers to desist from holding meetings during school hours,” Adeniran emphasized. “Henceforth, any primary school head teacher who indulges in such acts will be severely dealt with.”
Adeniran urged unions and associations within the basic education sub-sector to comply with this policy as the new session commences. He reaffirmed SUBEB’s commitment to harnessing technology to enhance Oyo State’s education system.
“We are determined to ensure our schools run efficiently, and our students receive the quality education they deserve,” Adeniran stated.
