Manny Pacquiao retained his WBA world welterweight title after beating Adrian Broner in Las Vegas.

The Filipino dominated his American opponent and won with a convincing unanimous points.

It was Pacquiao’s 70th fight and his first as a 40-year-old, as he rocked the former four-weight world champion with a stunning left in the ninth round.

Judges scored the bout 117-111, 116-112, 116-112 in Pacquiao’s favour.

After his victory, he called out legend, Floyd Mayweather, who defeated him in 2015, for a rematch.

Meanwhile, Broner is not satisfied with the ruling of the judges, as he insists he was the winner of the bout.

“I beat him. Everyone out there knows I beat him. I controlled the fight, he was missing. I hit clean more times. I beat him,” he said.

Mayweather has remained unbeaten and has long retired from professional boxing.

“Tell him to come back to the ring and we will fight,” said Pacquiao.

“I am willing to fight with Floyd Mayweather if he is willing to come back to box.”

Mayweather recently defeated Japanese kickboxer Tenshin Nasukawa in an exhibition boxing bout in December but has previously said he is “still retired.”

But it is yet to be known if a rematch between him and senator Pacquiao will be reality.
