Pakistan lifts travel ban on prominent journalist

Authorities in Pakistan have lifted the travel ban placed on prominent journalist, Cyril Almeida who wrote a story about civilian-military rift over secret support for armed groups.

An official memorandum issued by the Ministry of the Interior on Friday said that “it has been decided to delete the name of Cyril Almeida … from the Exit Control List”.

After the release of Almeida, the government did not give details for the sudden release of the pen pusher whose name has been struck off the Exit Control List.
