Palestinian teen hit by rubber bullet in coma as protest over Jerusalem rages on

The occupied West Bank region in the Middle East continues to boil as a 14-year-old boy who was shot in the face with a rubber bullet during a protest against a US decision to recognise Jerusalem as Israel’s capital has now been placed into a medically-induced coma.

According to reports, the victim, Mohammed Tamimi was shot at close range during demonstrations staged in the village of Nabi Saleh in the occupied West Bank.

According to the victims cousin, Manal Tamimi, the rubber bullet which hit Mohammed entered the teen’s face below his nose and broke his jaw before getting lodged into his skull.

“The blood was pouring from his face like a fountain,” the victims cousin said.

“It was so scary. No one knew what to do. We were scared to move him. He had passed out and we were afraid he had already died.”

Meanwhile, protests against Trump’s decision continue to rage across the world with mass rallies held on Sunday in Indonesia, Turkey and Pakistan in a show of solidarity with the Palestinians.

The biggest demonstration took place in Indonesia’s capital, Jakarta, where an estimated 80,000 protesters rallied outside the US embassy.

There were similar scenes in Turkey’s capital, Ankara, where protesters raised Turkish and Palestinian flags and chanted slogans such as “Jerusalem is ours and will remain so”.
