Panic as gunmen kidnap 14 workers of Nestoil in Rivers

No fewer than 14 staff members of Nestoil Plc. have been abducted in Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni Local Government Area of Rivers State.

It was learnt that the company bus conveying the 14 workers to the office on Friday morning was accosted around Omoku town.

A source who hinted The Nation said the workers of Nestoil were diverted to an unknown destination at gunpoint.

As at the time of filing in this report, details were still sketchy, but a senior police officer in the area told our correspondent that the police were already on top of the shocking kidnap.

At press time, all effort made to reach company proved abortive as the only known contact was not reachable.

When contacted, the Public Relations Officer of Rivers State Police Command DSP Nnamdi Omoni said he has heard of such development, but quickly added that he does not have the details.

Omoni who promised to reach our correspondent later said, “I just have sketchy details, promise to get back to you soonest.”
