Panic as two bombs go off in eastern Germany
Local police in the German city of Dresden reveal that two improvised bombs exploded on Monday evening at a mosque and another at an international conference centre – but no one was injured.
“Even if we so far have no claim of responsibility, we must go on the basis that the motive was xenophobic,” Horst Kretzschmar, president of Dresden police said in a statement.
Weeks ago, a bomb failed to explode near a Government office for migrants and refugees in the German town Zirndorf in northern Bavaria, near the city of Nuremberg.
The device, which was a suitcase filled with aerosol cans, was reportedly ‘planted by a man and a woman’ as Germany remains on edge after a series of horrifying terror attacks.
