PASTOR TUNDE BAKARE: Now this is getting annoying

By Joseph Edgar…

The way and manner these people toy with our lives and the future of our children can really be very annoying and sometimes almost irritating. So this Pastor wakes up one morning and throws a lemon. God spoke to him to contest and lead Nigeria. Much as I would have loved to ignore this dribble, on second thought, I have decided to tackle it headlong, in a bid to finally put an end to this chicanery and with the hope that right thinking Nigerians will join the crusade in finally sweeping these cockroaches into the dustbin of history.

This particular Pastor, in recent times was running mate to the incumbent. What electoral values he brought to the table I could not really fathom and since that unfortunate incident, he has been dancing from one end of the spectrum to the other, without any firm rooting in ideology nor policy but a penchant to muddle the waters thereby causing very tepid and mild distractions in political waters.

So waking up on a bright morning to cast very false aspersions on our Jehovah God is blasphemy that Christendom should not allow. This assertions and the ones earlier made by his comrade in arms, Chris Okotie, have done so much to damage the very foundations of Christianity. For how can a whole almighty, all seeing and all powerful Jehovah God throw up political Lilliputians.

This write up is not defend Christianity from the misfiring of its self-appointed guardians but to build a wall between Nigerians and egomaniacs as they attempt to fraught on us self-aggrandising visions while attempting to ride on a crest of spiritual endorsement. This politics of political ‘’follow follow’’ that Tunde bakare and his ilk are playing is at best comical in the build up to a very serious 2019 electoral process which is expected to pit very serious players against each other as we once again attempt to salvage this country.

These Pastors have suffered so much reputational damage recently, especially with their losing battle against the lone crusader, Freeze, who has really taken them to the cleaners on the issue of tithing. Their woes were further compounded by the British tabloid expose on the extravagant and hedonistic lifestyles of two of our pastors as they prey on poor Nigerians in the UK.

This Bakare’s vision is just another nail in their coffin for it once again throws up the very selfish and emotive tendencies of these so called men of God to put self before the nation.

So is this another branch of this movement with the political terrain as the next platform for greedy exploitation with this brazen attempt at converting the political space into a vehicle for the continuous perpetuation of the suffering and impoverishment of the Nigerian people. Please these people should not let me talk o. What is all these. So, because we have been stupid enough to part with our tithes without as much as demanding for accountability, we should also now sell our souls on the political alter to people who do not even understand the basics in economic principles not to talk about the sensitive political landscape that has been throwing up all sort of challenges for our country.

So my dear Pastor, kindly keep you day job, your brethren need you there. You have not finished winning enough souls in the vineyard. Don’t you have another revival service to hold? Please spare us this tom foolery, my Lord. We are tired.
