Patience Jonathan reportedly seals deal with Aisha Buhari to convert Abuja hotel to COVID-19 isolation centre
Reports emanating from the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) indicate that former First Lady, Patience Jonathan, may have reached a deal with First Lady Aisha Muhammadu Buhari to turn her 200 bed hotel to a COVID-19 disease isolation and treatment centre.
The hotel, located on the ever busy Jabi-Mabushi road, has been a subject of litigation between Mrs Jonathan and the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), which secured an interim forfeiture order on the property, with Mrs Jonathan insisting that the hotel belongs to another entity, the Aurora Foundation.
The Nation Newspapers reports that a deal was struck between Mrs Jonathan and Mrs. Buhari during a recent visit of the former to the Aso Rock Presidential Villa, Abuja, for Mrs Buhari’s pet project, the Future Assured Programme to use the property as an isolation and treatment centre for the COVID-19 pandemic.
The reports further added that the hotel, which has witnessed intensed finishing touches in the last few days would be handed over to the Minister of Health, Osagie Ehanire today, Monday.
