Chief Whip says budget padding not party case, wants APC to hands-off

For daring to dump their former party, the PDP for the ruling party, APC, the two House of Representatives members who announced their defection today may find themselves in court.

In separate letters, read on the floor of the House, the lawmakers, Tony Nwoye from Anambra State, and Emmanuel Udende from Benue State, informed the House that they are leaving the PDP due to the leadership crisis in the party.

But reacting, Minority Leader of the House, Hon. Leo Ogor, however, rejected the move and vowed that the party will
take legal action against the two lawmakers.

According to him, the actions of the two men was embarrassing as no recognised institution such as the courts had ruled that the party had split into factions.

He stated that the party would take the lawmakers to court and insist that the vacate their seats if they insist on leaving the PDP, under which platform they were elected into the House.
