Having stayed in opposition to a former Deputy Governor of Osun State, Senator Iyiola Omisore, a faction of the PDP in that state has willingly vacated the party secretariat in the state that was being paid for by Omisore.

They packed bags and belongings out of the premises situated along Osogbo-Gbongan Road soon after they held a parallel congress, and picked officers to form a faction of the party, as opposed to the faction Omisore endorsed.

They moved to a new place around Otaefun area along Ikirun Road.

It was gathered that Omisore was the one who rented and had been paying for the property.

The party in the state had been plagued with crisis leading to different congresses being held to elect leaders of the party from ward to state level.

A faction held its congress which produced the Mr. Soji Adagunodo-led executives, while the Dr. Bayo Faforiji faction which is enjoying the support of Omisore stayed away from the congress.

Omisore’s faction said they had got an injunction restraining the party from holding the congress.

An aide of Omisore confirmed that his boss rented the secretariat and he is the one paying the rent so there is no way they “can come here with what they have done.”

According to him, “He did not pursue them but they also know that they can no longer come here. They have moved to Otaefun area. They have gone there to form a faction of PDP. But let us wait and see. We are still going to court tomorrow (Tuesday).”
