PDP in clean sweep of Ondo LG election

Mimiko begs FG, RMFAC to review revenue sharing formula

The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has been declared winner of the local government election conducted in Ondo State on Friday.

The party was declared winner of the all the chairmanship positions on offer, while it also won 202 councillorship positions out of the available 203.

The ACPN won the remaining one councillorship position.

The All Progressives Congress, APC, the main opposition party in the state did not take part in the election.

However, the Chairman of the state Independent Electoral Commission, Olugbenga Ige, declined to give the total number of registered voters and those accredited for the election.

Reports have it the election witnessed voters apathy as there was a low turnout of voters across the state.
