PDP Makarfi faction set to dump party, ex-Deputy Speaker Ihedioha confirms

Former Deputy Speaker House of Assembly, and a Peoples Democratic Party chieftain loyal to Senator Ahmed Makarfi faction, Chief Emeka Ihedioha, has revealed the group’s plan to abandon PDP should Senator Ali Modu Sheriff be affirmed the party chairman by the Supreme Court.

The former deputy speaker stated this when he addressed party stakeholders at Obiri Ehinkirinki Hall, Okpala in Ngor Okpala Local Council Area of Imo State.

He said, “Let me tell you in clear terms that if Ali Modu Sheriff wins the legal battle at the Supreme Court, there is a ready political platform waiting for us. We will decamp en masse to the party and
abandon PDP for Sheriff.

“Sheriff was brought into PDP to destroy the party. Sheriff has a hidden agenda and we will not allow him to actualise it in PDP.”

He added, “It is our desire to return power to the masses, in line with the PDP slogan of power belongs to the people.”

Giving reason for his visit to the area, Ihedioha said, “I am here for reconciliation. I have forgiven those that offended me and I expect those that I inadvertently offended to forgive and forget.”

Following a Port Harcourt Court of Appeal judgment that authenticated Sheriff as the national chairman of PDP, Makarfi group took the case to the apex court.

There are assumptions that the ruling of the Supreme Court holds what could become of the PDP as Makarfi and his members have continued to suggests there may no longer be a PDP as known currently should the Supreme Court affirms Sheriff as the party national chairman.

Why is Makarfi being paranoid when the Supreme Court has not given their verdict yet? He should better agree with the power that be before he witnesses the biggest disgrace of his life if Supreme Court judgement stands to be in favour of Sherif.

Makarfi is not in any way paranoid as you said, he has credible people behind him so he is not moved.

Yet another silly talk from the man who believes he knows better. Makarfi and his group are not going anywhere, they have the key to solve PDP’s problems and they will not stop until they kick Sheriff out!
