PDP PRESIDENTIAL PRIMARY: Aspirants may agree to prune number of contestants
There are strong indications that the presidential aspirants under the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the 2019 elections will prune down their number before going for the primary in October, Saturday Telegraph has learnt.
The development, Saturday Telegraph learnt, is ostensibly to check any move which may mar the process leading to the eventual emergence of the party’s candidate ahead of the for the presidential election scheduled for February 2019.
Also, it was gathered from a presidential aspirant, who spoke to this newspaper on condition of anonymity, that none of the aspirants was planning to step down for one another, let alone to be coerced by the party’s hierarchy to step down.
