PDP: Sheriff vows not to work with troublesome members

PDP's loud silence: How not to be an opposition party

The national chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Senator Ali Modu Sherriff, on Friday, vowed not to work with members who would instigate crisis or violence in the party.

The PDP boss stated this when he received members of the Arewa Social Media Forum, ASMEFO, in Abuja.

Apologising to Nigerians for the mistakes made by the party in the past, Sheriff said the crisis in the party were man made and self inflicted. He however vowed to the PDP to the grassroots in preparation for the 2019 elections.

He said: “We have a mandate of the party members and leaders to reposition the party and we will not work with anyone who will create crisis or violence in the party no matter their positions.

“The party has suffered enough for its mistakes and members and indeed Nigerians are looking forward towards a repositioned PDP.”

He however described administration of the All Progressives Congress (APC) as a mistake. He stated that PDP lost power because of past injustices and frustrations of many PDP members who make up 60 per cent of the APC.
