PDP suspends Ubah, queries Kashamu over anti-party activities

The National Caretaker Committee (NCC) of the Peoples Democratic Party on Thursday suspended a governorship aspirant in the recently concluded primary election in Anambra State, Ifeanyi Ubah.

NCC also queried Senator Buruji Kashamu, who represents Ogun East in the Senate.

This was made known by the party in a series of tweets on its Twitter handle on Thursday.

Ubah has continued to disparage the national officers of the PDP and those that conducted the Anambra State governorship primary after he lost the election.

Ubah came a distant 3rd with 94 votes, to Oseloka Obaze, who emerged the party candidate with 607 votes.

But following his criticism of the election, the party had queried him. Ubah was said to have ignored the query, a reason that informed his suspension.

“The National Caretaker Committee today announced the suspension of Dr. Ifeanyi Ubah, over his disparaging & unfounded allegations…

“The matter has been referred to the National Disciplinary Committee for further action,” the party tweeted.

On the case of Kashamu the PDP said, “In the same vein, the party also queried Senator Buruji Kashamu over his involvement in some issues in Ogun state…

“His matter has also been referred to the National Disciplinary Committee for further action.

“The committee is given 2 weeks to report back.”

It was learnt that Kashamu, unlike Ubah, replied his query and denied issues of anti-party activities in the South-West raised against him.
