PDP yet to recover from 2019 election defeat —BMO

The Buhari Media Organisation (BMO) Thursday criticised the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), saying the party had been acting with rascality since it lost the 2019 general elections.

BMO said PDP must cultivate the habit of being a responsible opposition, rather than causing disaffection and confusion in the polity.

In a statement by its Chairman, Niyi Akinsiju, and Secretary, Cassidy Madueke, BMO said there was nothing in PDP’s recent claims that President Muhammadu Buhari could not seal any meaningful economic agreement at the 7th Tokyo International Conference on African Development.

“Like a drowning man, the PDP has not ceased clutching at straw, and that is exactly what it was doing in its latest attempt to cast aspersion on the Buhari administration and the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), in regards to Nigeria’s showing at the conference”, the group said.

“Contrary to PDP’s position that Nigeria did not get any meaningful economic gains from the Tokyo conference, there are a lot of benefits accruing to Nigeria, among of which are 300 million dollars from the Japanese government, promissory notes from the European Union (EU) and other bilateral benefits”, it added.
