Why my people bombed UNIMAID mosques --Shekau

Leader of the terrorist group, Boko Haram, Abubakar Shekau, has claimed his group was behind the bomb blast that rocked the University of Maiduguri, (UNIMAID) Borno State on Monday.

Two suspected Boko Haram suicide bombers had on Monday sneaked into the university environment and detonated explosive devices at a mosque within the university, killing four people, and injuring 17 others in the twin bomb blast.

Reports suggest the casualty number may have increased.

An audio recording on YouTube, by a man claiming to be the wanted Shekau, leader of the sect, claimed his people attacked the mosque because it was “ungodly”.

He denied that they have been weakened by the Nigerian army, and called the Mosque and UNIMAID symbols of western education and democracy.

Shekau who spoke in Hausa said in the recording, “The bomb that happened this morning, it’s my people. Don’t deceive people that it’s a mosque, how would you build a mosque and do ungodly things in it.

“We are not angry with Nigeria. You didn’t kill anyone in Sambisa. We are praying that we don’t change; Koran is our teacher; this is the message we are sending to you. Are you (refering to President Buhari) as powerful as God?

“You should know it’s Shekau talking and I’m alive and it’s we that did it, even if King Pharaoh repents, we will not accept it”, he said.

Since the routing out of the group from their base in Sambisa Forest by the Nigerian Army and subsequent declaration of total defeat of the group by Nigerian government, Boko Haram has continued to carry out isolated suicide bombings in parts of the affected North East part of the country.

“Koran is our teacher; this is the message we are sending to you,” Koran can’t teach you the rubbish you’re doing, you thought yourselves.

Yes now. They are just hiding under the canopy of anti western education. Boko Haram was a post election violence in 2011 because buhari failed, only GOD knows their real intent

I think they are becoming more confused every day. It’s almost game over for them, they need to quit before it’s too late

How I wish they will only be bombing mosques, then that would have been better , at least Christians will be spared. Islam is a religion of war.
