People scamper as another petrol tanker falls in Onitsha

A petrol tanker loaded with fuel has once again fallen in Onitsha, Anambra State.

The incident happened at Chipex Filling station, along Onitsha/Enugu Expressway.

Two tankers had two weeks ago fallen in the city resulting in the death of several persons and destruction of properties.

Though Thursday’s incident did not cause any fire outbreak, people around the area took to their heels to avoid any sudden inferno resulting from fuel spilling from the tanker.

Confirming the incident in a statement, the Anambra State Command Police Public Relations Officer, Haruna Mohammed said, “A tanker loaded with PMS just fell into a ditch along Onitsha/Enugu Expressway by Chipex Filling station.
