People using Afenifere’s name for selfish purposes —Durojaiye

A former lawmaker representing Ogun East Senatorial District, Biyi Durojaiye, on Wednesday said many people were displeased with the manner the name of the Yoruba socio-cultural group, Afenifere, was being used by some individuals.

There were reports after the meeting of a caucus of Afenifere held at the Osogbo residence of Pa Ayo Fasanmi on Tuesday that some Yoruba leaders who are in support of the leadership of Pa Ayo Fasanmi would consider leaving the group for others supporting Fasoranti.

Durojaiye, in a telephone interview with The PUNCH correspondent, confirmed that the idea was suggested.

He, however, said “no conclusion has been reached on the matter.”
