PHOTOSCENE: Culture, sprint, medals in Asaba

Asaba 2018

The 2018 African Senior Athletics Championships began at the Stephen Keshi Stadium in Asaba, Delta State capital, on Wednesday.

Ethiopia’s Jemal Yimer won the first gold medal of the Asaba showpiece which is the 21st edition of the CAA’s biennial competition and scheduled to end on Sunday, August 5th.

Due to early lapses faced in the conveyance of athletes to the venue of the competition, some of the events scheduled for the day of kick off were rescheduled.

The Day 1 saw the start of the 100m and 200m championships, and also the winner and runners-up of the 10,000m race, as the official opening ceremony followed at the end.
