PHOTOSCENE: Star-studded wedding of Serena Williams & Alexis Ohanian

Tennis superstar, Serena Williams has married Reddit co-founder Alexis Ohanian in a lavish ceremony at the Contemporary Arts Center of New Orleans.

The wedding took place just 11 weeks after giving birth to their daughter, Alexis Jr, whose own Instagram page has more than 105,000 followers.

Ohanian, Reddit co-founder, had proposed 18 months after they met in a cafe in Rome, and Williams announced their engagement in December last year.

Williams, who won the 2017 Australian Open in January, later revealed she was pregnant while playing in the tournament, and she gave birth to her baby in September.

The Ohanians had around 200 people at their ceremony in New Orleans, including Beyonce, Eva Longoria, Caroline Wozniacki, and Vogue editor Anna Wintour.

In a photo posted on Instagram, Ohanian wrote sweet words about his newly wedded wife, Serena. He wrote:

“@SerenaWilliams: You are the greatest of all time, not just in sports — I’m talking about as a mother and as a wife.

“I am so excited to write so many more chapters of our fairy tale together. And my whole life I didn’t even realize it, but I was waiting for this moment.

“And everything that I have done, everything that I am so proud of in my career and in my life, for the past 34 years, pale in comparison to what we are doing today.”

Williams is expected to return to Tennis in January when the season kicks off as she hopes to defend her title at the Australian Open.
