PHOTOSCENE: UNICEF marks World Children's day in Nigeria

UNICEF is striving to make World Children’s Day an annual signature moment “For children, By children” all over the world. The goal is to make World Children’s Day a fun day – but with a serious message.

Children set Nigerian media space alight recently, when in celebration of the event, they took over national, international and local broadcasts on a number of broadcast stations including Nigerian Television Authority and Radio Nigeria; the Kaduna State Media Corporation and the Ebonyi State Broadcasting Serviceamong others.

In Kaduna State, a 14 year-old girl took over as Commissioner of the State Ministry of Women Affairs & Social Development for the day.

Other kids took up other roles such as security guards at five star hotels in Abuja.
