Pilots’ protest grounds Dana Air

A protest by pilots in the employ of Dana Air on Thursday grounded the activities of the airline, leaving some of its passengers stranded at airports across the country for several hours.

The protests, Ripples Nigeria gathered, were over welfare issues.

At the Murtala Muhammed Airport 2 (MMA 2), Lagos, some of the airline’s flights scheduled for the early part of Thursday were cancelled.

Some of the affected passengers who had bought flight tickets told News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) that they had to make alternative arrangements to get to their destinations.

However, Dana Air’s Communications Manager, Mr Kingsley Ezenwa, who confirmed the development, told NAN that the issue had been resolved.

“The issue has been resolved. It was just a small miscommunication between Dana management and pilots.

“So, we are flying now and we apologise to our passengers for any inconveniences they might have suffered,” Ezenwa said.
